The Story Behind
Wild Wood Creative

My Journey To My Happy Place

By Lauren Bedard

You guys… I’m crying happy tears as I write this. I finally did it.
I wrote my resignation letter to leave my career as a registered nurse. This wasn’t an easy decision to make by any stretch of the imagination. After 4 yrs of university to achieve my goal of becoming an RN I am leaving it all behind. I’m leaving job security, benefits and all of the other perks of the job. But I’m also leaving behind night shifts, long 12 hr days and a job that left me feeling empty. Quite simply my heart wasn’t in it anymore. I will always love nursing and have huge respect for all nurses but it’s not the right fit for me right now.
I am so ready to launch this business in a way I never thought possible and to build my brand. Because of you guys I get to be home to kiss my babies every night & drop them off at school every day. I never have to miss a soccer game or swimming lesson. That to me is priceless. I know running your own business comes with its own hurdles and hardships but I’m so ready to face all of that head on. I’ve never wanted anything more.
I have been so inspired by so many amazing women in this industry like @thehouseoftimber, @lushlemonco & @oakandfeatherdecor to name a few… these women are unapologetically true to themselves and have made a living making beautiful things. I’m ready to learn, make mistakes and most importantly grow in this business.
If it doesn’t set your soul on fire, maybe it’s time for a change. Welcome to my passion, welcome to my home & welcome to Wild Wood Creative.
